The hotel - the inestimably brilliant Taj Vivanta in Bangalore - gave him this going away gift. Apparently, too, they're going to name our rooms after us. 114, 116, 118: "Three Best Friends".

[In other news, I booked a flight from Singapore to Penang on the 18th December so, Bart, Ryan, Sim, Shah and Emma - I'll see you kids then. Can't wait! x]

He's carrying some bit of wood. You can just see his mate on the back, on the phone. They're crossing a ridiculous junction where you have to fight against directly oncoming traffic.

Driving in India is rarely boring.

As it turns out, you're the most dull, dry, least affectionate people I've ever met. You're painful to talk to. You suck the life out of the room.

Noble's recommendation: go to (or be from) Norway.

Our mate Paddy at the Taj Vivanta asked us if he could get a photo of us behind the bar. (We might have spent some time behind said bar.) He took the photo.

Twenty minutes later he turned up with the photo, framed!

What a legend; hospitality at its greatest. Thanks, Paddy. You're a legend of a man.

I'll try and post a picture a day of life in Bangalore. They won't be art, they'll just be what happens.

Today: being fitted for my suit. They're cheap here, so why wouldn't you? Our tailor is this amazing old guy. We got measured up last week and today was the first fitting; he ran around us, tweaking, chalking, measuring, adjusting.

It's a great experience to be at the literal centre of a great craftsman's work.
